Severn Trent Water

East Midlands, West Midlands and mid Wales
Project Description:
Regeneco Ltd commissioned TNEI Services Ltd to provide full planning and environmental consultancy services on the Severn Trent Water wind project. TNEI initially undertook an extensive GIS sieving and feasibility assessment of the STW portfolio which consisted of 5000 sites. The resultant shortlist was then reviewed using desktop assessment methods to refine the list further. Site visits and more detailed technical studies were then undertaken to assist in ranking sites to be progressed.

Due to the volume of potential sites, the initial feasibility stages of the project required significant project management to ensure progress was correctly tracked and information kept up to date. Specialist input was also coordinated and it was critical to ensure that all progress was effectively reported to the client at face to face meetings.

Once a shortlist of sites was agreed, TNEI devised a full submission programme, including a bespoke PR and stakeholder engagement strategy. TNEI then managed the submission programme including the Environmental Statement or Environmental Report production and management.

10 sites were progressed ranging from single turbines to medium sized wind farms at sites throughout the Midlands and mid Wales.
