Project Description: 
Banks Developments Ltd commissioned TNEI to undertake an Environmental Impact Assessment for the proposed Penny Hill Wind Farm in Yorkshire. The proposed development gained support from Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council and is currently under construction.
The wind farm site is located to the west of the M1 and M18 interchange south of Rotherham. The scheme will consist of six turbines, each with a maximum height to blade tip of 132 metres, as well as associated infrastructure. The wind farm will have a maximum installed capacity of 20.4 megawatts.
Key Features:
  • Preparing an EIA Scoping Request to Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council;
  • Providing information on environmental and planning constraints and assisting in evolution of the design layout;
  • Undertaking technical surveys necessary as part of the EIA;
  • Appointing and managing subcontractors where required to conduct specialist assessments;
  • Undertaking technical reviews of reports and figures;
  • Leading consultation with statutory consultees and participating in community engagement events;
  • Producing the planning application documents including Environmental Statement, Non-Technical Summary, Planning Statement, Design & Access Statement etc;
  • Providing post-submission environmental and planning advice to the client.
