Low Spinney Wind Farm

Project Description: 
TNEI was appointed by Broadview Energy Ltd to manage the Environmental Impact Assessment and planning application process for Low Spinney Wind farm in Leicestershire. The proposed development received planning approval at appeal and is now operational.
The wind farm site is situated to the east of the M1 between J20 and J21. The scheme consists of four turbines (each with a maximum height of 125 metres to blade tip), as well as associated infrastructure.
Key Features:
  • Preparing the application for a temporary meteorological mast to monitor wind speed at the site;
  • Preparing an EIA Scoping Request to Harborough District Council;
  • Managing ongoing consultation with key stakeholders with regard to key technical and environmental constraints;
  • Managing the design of the layout using a GIS constraints mapping process;
  • Undertaking technical surveys necessary as part of the EIA;
  • Appointing and managing subcontractors where required to conduct specialist assessments;
  • Undertaking technical reviews of all reports and figures;
  • Leading consultation with statutory consultees and participating in community engagement events;
  • Producing the planning application documents including Environmental Statement, Non-Technical Summary, Planning Statement, Design & Access Statement etc;
  • Providing post-submission environmental and planning advice to the client.
