Project Description: 
GHF Energy Limited commissioned TNEI Services Limited to provide full planning and environmental consultancy services for a single wind turbine development at Greenhills Farm in North Yorkshire. TNEI initially undertook an extensive feasibility assessment of the proposal site. Constraints mapping was used to identify suitable areas for development. Once the location was determined the proposal progressed to application stage.

TNEI commenced environmental and technical assessments on the site for the purposes of compiling supporting documentation and submitting a planning application. The development gained consent at appeal in April 2013.

The scheme will consist of a single turbine with a maximum height to blade tip of 87 metres, as well as associated infrastructure. The turbine will have a maximum installed capacity of 500kw.

Key Features:
  • Preparing an EIA Screening Request to Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council
  • Undertaking technical and environmental surveys necessary to form part of Environmental Report— screening report confirmed site to be non-EIA;
  • Co-coordinating all ecological studies including ornithology to feed into the Environmental Report;
  • Appointing and managing subcontractors where required to conduct specialist assessments;
  • Producing and updating constraints mapping to inform the design evolution;
  • Providing information on environmental and planning constraints to inform production of constraints mapping to assist in evolution of the design layout;
  • Undertaking technical reviews of reports and figures;
  • Managing consultation with statutory consultees
  • Preparing the Environmental Report and other associated documentation and
  • Managing appeal process through to determination of application.
